Led by acclaimed saxophonist and composer Jeremy Rose, this quartet brings together some of Australia’s most compelling improvisers: pianist Steve Barry, bassist Noel Mason and drummer Alex Hirlian. Forged through years of regular collaboration, the group has developed a distinctive collective voice grounded in lyrical composition, spacious improvisation and a deep sense of musical conversation.  At its heart, this is music about presence - musicians listening closely, shaping the moment together, and inviting audiences into a shared experience of connection and discovery. Described by Rhythms Magazine as “state-of-the-art acoustic jazz, impeccably performed, sanguine in nature, brimming with hope,” the Jeremy Rose Quartet offers a compelling and deeply human live performance.

Sun, 10 May, 7pm

I’m really excited to be back for a one-off, intimate Sydney show, my first in 4 years :)  This night is a bit of a snapshot of where I’m at creatively right now, moving through a timeline of songs marking different moments (getting stuck, starting again, figuring things out as I go). I’ll be playing some of my recent material, as well as songs I’ve co-written with collaborators around London, which have been a big part of my journey lately.

It’s part live show, part open reflection, just a bit of a look at the ups, downs, and everything in between when it comes to me making music.

In a relentless and restless world, Stu Larsen went looking for silence and stillness in some of the most remote corners of the globe. Solitude isn’t about escaping life, it’s about slowing down enough to notice it. Writing 12 songs over 12 months while hiding away in 12 different locations around the world with nothing but a guitar, a few cameras and some simple recording equipment. Over the course of this project, Larsen re-discovered that something magical happens when you completely disconnect from the world and intentionally spend time alone, allowing thoughts and emotions to flow, without the constant distractions of a life lived in this modern, connected age. Solitude is set to release on Friday the 19th of June 2026. YOUTUBE
