With mastery across acoustic and electric guitar, his musical footprint spans continents, gracing stages from Europe to Australia and beyond. Pioneering the introduction of European jazz style, notably Gypsy Jazz, to Australia, Ian's versatility extends beyond performance—he's a singer, songwriter, and composer for film and TV, leaving his mark on over 100 albums. Rooted in early American Jazz, his compositions breathe life into melodies that resonate with audiences, forging connections that transcend genres.

Master guitarist, Guy Strazz, is renowned for his composition and improvisation explorations. Drawing from jazz, Indian and western classical as well as Afro-Brazilian musics, his work with notable artists such as Dale Barlow, Slava Grygorian, V. Mohan Bhatt, Greg Sheehan, Matt McMahon, Mike Stern, and Sandy Evans is testament to a profound journey of music exploration. Guy is joined by Fiona Lugg (b), Brendan Berlach (sax), and master drummer Toby Hall. "The Indo-jazz interpretation of Miles Davis’s All Blues is stunningly beautiful." John Shand.

Join us for She Scores 2025, a special International Women’s Day event celebrating the talent and achievements of Australian female screen and game composers. Presented by the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC), this panel discussion will feature acclaimed screen and game composers, who will share insights into their creative process, industry experiences, and the stories behind their work. Each panelist will share a short excerpt of their composition. Amanda Brown, Bryony Marks, Katarzyna Wiktorski, Luna Pan, Lessica Wells. Refreshments will be provided. Tickets are free, but donations are welcome and appreciated.

Close to Forever is a collective of some of Australia’s most acclaimed and talented musicians. Their sound is described as a searing and haunting listening experience, a mix of rich vocal harmony with luscious arrangements featuring elements of artpop, jazz, alt-folk and improvisation. Playing fresh original works and material by master song crafters such as PJ Harvey and Nina Simone they’ve created a distinctive sound centred on close vocal harmony, hypnotic rhythm and ethereal sonic landscapes.
This performance will feature Close to Forever in quartet mode: Dale Caldwell- vocals, Ben Fink – guitar and vocals, Peter Hollo – cello and Chris Abrahams - piano.

The SP7 is a jazz septet consisting of prominent Sydney Jazz musicians including Nishcal Manjunath (sax), Heather Prowse (Trum), Rhys Moore (Trom), Yutaro Okuda (Guit), Casey Golden (piano), Jodie Michael (drums) and lead by bassist and composer Siebe Pogson. Based on Siebe’s experiences in Barcelona. He's most known for leading the jazz-funk Funk Engine collaborating with artists such as indigenous rapper DOBBY and soul singer Pat Powell. He was also a founding member and composer of the jazz cross-over group Elysian Fields working with Matt Keegan, Matt McMahonn and Dave Goodman. EXPECT SOMETHING LIKE THIS - YOUTUBE

Bach and a Bit More
5pm Sun 23rd March
Melbourne based flautist and composer Johanna Selleck teams up with one of Sydney’s keyboard legends Sumiko Yamamura in a JS Bach Flute Sonata to coincide with his 340th birthday and they will also premiere four new Australian works that all include a ‘hint’ of Bach. Thrilled that Richard Rourke and Sumiko will also perform two new Australian works and the Sonata by Leonard Bernstein, a work that is quite romantic at times and also channels jazz idioms. TICKETS AT THE DOOR ONLY.
