Church Street Studios is an autonomous collective of independent film, music and sound professionals, screen composers, recording studios and creative suites. Located in Sydney's inner city we offer a diverse range of services such as: picture editing, film and tv scoring, song recording and production, location music recording, sound and music editing, arranging and musical direction.
The facilities boast a huge assortment of western and exotic instruments, including a Kawai grand piano and two uprights, Sleishman drum kit, Moog theremin, vintage vibraphone, one Chinese and two Irish harps, five banjos (don't ask) and an enormous selection of basses, guitars, vintage and cutting edge microphones, amps, outboard gear, and a chilled collaborative and inclusive atmosphere. For emerging and re-emerging screen composers we run a generous residency program and almost all our rooms are wheelchair accessible. We champion gender equity and strive to make our workplace safe, friendly, productive and empowering.
Our studios have a direct fibre internet connection meaning crazy speeds over 900Mbps up and down, perfect for remote recording, skype briefs and superfast final deliveries.
Also located within our building is the Academy Award winning Foley recordists, Longstocking Studios. Church Street is expanding. If you want to be involved, read more here. And if you're looking for a unique gift idea, here are some suggestions from the Church Street Team.
Church Street Studios acknowledge the Traditional Owners of this land, the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
